EXAMPLE APPLICATION
The removal of BSA (Bovine Serum Albumine) from a water solution shows the typical performance of the Mosaic Systems technology.
The packed bed standard (15 cm bedheight; 500 μm beads) shows very low adsorption capacity whilst a Mosaic Systems Module (15 cm bedheight; 10 μm beads) shows more than 40 times higher adsorption capacity at normal linear velocities.
Secondly the through-put can be increased considerably, as a result of the far lower pressure drop over the Mosaic Systems Module.
Lewatit CNP80 was used as adsorbent, immobilised in a PES membrane matrix.
